iGood: Personalizing One’s Music
The Apple iPod is an incredibly convenient way to bring all of your favorite music with you anywhere at any time. It works to bring a new personalized meaning to the words “my music.” The iPod comes in many different colors, shapes, and sizes to provide a variety of options for the consumer. Some have a larger hard drive while others are smaller and more compact for easy storage.
The process of accumulating music is also very easy and user friendly. Just download the iTunes software program onto your computer and the iTunes store does the rest of the work for you. At the iTunes store, one simply types in the name of the song or artist they are seeking into the search bar, and the results are endless.
Most people don’t know this, but you can also store documents and pictures, as well as music, games, and videos onto the Apple iPod. The iPod is not a very complex gadget, which makes it easy to use for consumers.
There are 5 main buttons on a heat sensitive touch screen that allows for quick scrolling and selection. The iPod is the most popular music player, thus it has multiple types of accessories ranging from cases to car adapters. This allows of the consumer to personalize their music player and make it unique while also allowing them to play their music while driving, running, walking, biking, or even writing a blog!
Thus, the iPod really is a music player for the unique “iNidividual” of all ages.
iBad: Frustrating Processes and Complications
The Apple iPod is a very complex gadget. When used correctly, it can be an enjoyable experience, but more than often, it causes frustration to the user, regardless of whether one is tech-savvy or not.
Apple iPods are only compatible with their own software and other Apple products. If one of the accessories, like the sync cable gets lost, there is no way to add files onto the iPod. Apple takes advantage of this by charging the consumer with unreasonably inflated prices for their brand named product. A pair of Apple iPod headphones costs up to $35 when a simply Wal-Mart brand only costs around $7. The replacement cable to add files to the iPod and connect it to the computer can cost quite a bit as well. Even so, some iPod accessories aren’t sold separately. The original white earphones can only be found when purchasing an iPod. They must be bought in complete sets. The consumer would have to repurchase a second iPod to get the accessories needed!
The process of connecting the iPod to the computer can also be complicated. Some iPod only sync when inserted into a certain USB port, or else the computer does not recognize that there I seven an iPod connected to it. To add other types of music files or programs, one must first convert all of the files to the appropriate file time before he or she is able to add them onto their iPod.
There are also so many iPod types that it confuses the consumer. Which iPod fits their needs? Some iPods have larger hard drives, but they are also bulkier and inconvenient to carry. These smaller ones, like the shuffle, which actually fit into one’s pocket, can barely hold as much as a simple USB drive.
The process of syncing the iPod is also an extremely delicate one that, if done incorrectly, can result in the iPod freezing or having to be reset. At points, this involves waiting for the battery to completely drain, then recharging the entire unit, wasting a lot of time.
Apple if obviously aware of the iPod’s complicated technological systems because they have dedicated an entire section of their official website to troubleshooting iPod problems. Apple should have changed its name to iFail.
iNeutral: A Functional Music Player Worth Its Cost
The Apple iPod is a music player that has swept the world. Almost everyone has one now.
The iPod has many different functions. It plays music, stores pictures, provides games, and certain ones can also play and view videos.
With every generation, the iPod’s appearance changes and features are switched out for others.
Essentially, the iPod is just like a Zune or any other mp3 player, except it has the Apple brand labeled to it. As a result, iPods are compatible with Apple accessories to increase the number of ways one can play music; be it with headphones, speakers, or a car adapter.
The functionality of the iPod makes it ideal of the consumer seeking a music player, and depending on the model, the iPod may also provide some extra features like games or picture and video viewing.
For the price, it provides a high sound quality compared to other mp3 players as well as higher quality graphics for pictures and videos. Most mp3 players can display pictures, but cannot play videos. The iPod screen is also bigger than most music players; some also are touch screens to fulfill user preferences.
The iPod’s battery life lasts for up to 12 hours of continuous play. The secret is in the use of the newest battery technology. Apple’s use of the improved lithium battery and updated technology makes the iPod a functional music player worth its cost.
